2001: "The Invisible Phantom"

Benjamin "Ben" Raab is a comic book writer and editor. He has written stories for Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Moonstone Books, Egmont, WildStorm, Malibu Comics, Harris Publications and Ludovico Technique LLC.

Biography

Raab is a native of Cedarhurst, NY, and attended Lawrence High School. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1992 with a Bachelor's degree in English Literature and Composition. While an assistant editor at Marvel he joined New York University's Stan-hattan Project. Administered by Raab's then Marvel editorial colleague James Felder, the project sought out and trained potential comic book writers.

In 1999, Raab got in touch with the publishers of the Swedish Fantomen comic book and wrote scripts for their production of Phantom comics until 2003. When Raab learned that Moonstone Books had obtained the rights to produce Phantom comics in the US, he contacted them and offered his services. He was Moonstone's main Phantom writer from 2002 to 2006. One of his last Phantom projects for Moonstone was the graphic novel "Legacy", a re-telling of the Phantom's origin. According to Raab, this was his most ambitious project so far.

Other writing work by Raab includes stints writing Excalibur, New Mutants: Truth or Death, Union Jack and X-Men/Alpha Flight. He also had a run on Green Lantern and The Human Race for DC Comics, as well as the miniseries, Legend of The Hawkman. For Ludovico Technique he wrote Living in Infamy.
