Östgöten
Östgöten is a local Swedish newspaper that published "The Phantom" daily strip. It is/was published 6 days a week.
History
It was founded 1872 in Linköping. On February 21, 1966, it was joined with Folkbladet and became Folkbladet Östgöten. It later became an edition of Folkbladet that existed from October 1, 1981. The main edition was the Norrköping edition and then there was a Finspång edition.
It was preceded by Folkbladet Östgöten (February 21, 1966 to September 30, 1981)
It ran under the title "Dragos" until November 5, 1985, then as "Fantomen" from November 6, 1985. However, in the story, the Phantom was starting to be referred to as "Fantomen" during the first publication of "The Heirs". The last time that he was referred to as "Dragos" was October 6, 1982, while first time he was being referred to as "Fantomen" was October 12, 1982.
Between November 30, 1985, and October 29, 1986, other titles such as "Modesty Blaise" and "Agent Corrigan" was run until "The Phantom" was reasumed. When they started publishing the Phantom again, they started publishing older stories, previously printed, and thus the Phantom is referred as "Dragos" in them, despite the title being "Fantomen".
