Behind the scenes

  • Tomm is called a pygmy and Guran calls him "my dear son".
  • According to this story, the 8th Phantom dies of a viper bite in the Great Swamp. This contradicts Lee Falk's later story "The Fourth Son" where the 8th is killed by an archer.
  • Oongaan is represented in the Council of Chiefs by Oonyatto, a Jungle Olympics champion. This is likely meant to be the same character as Obiju.
