Plot summary

When his friend Omar is kidnapped by slavers and taken to Jamaica to be sold as a slave, The 7th Phantom follow him there. He is helped by a former pirate who has inherited The Good Mark necklace from his father.

Behind the scenes

  • Ben Calico is drawn to look like a character from "Flash Gordon". The text "To Dan Barry" is written by Felmang in one panel.
  • Captain Jacob Dampier is drawn to look like the villain from the story "The Masked Ball" (when he is at the masquerade as a pirate captain). This character was, in "The Masked Ball", drawn to look like Sy Barry's brother Dan Barry who drew the "Flash Gordon" newspaper strip.
  • When this story was first published in Sweden and Norway, "The Masked Ball" was included in the same issue, making the similarities obvious to readers.
