I was wondering if this should be the page to put in a table of FREW releases and their release dates? I was thinking something like the below in a table. The issue would then link to the indvidual issue page which would hold all the details on stories, etc.

ISSUE Release Date

Phantom #1  ??/??/1948

Phantom #2  ??/??/1948

Etc.

Let us know what you think. If you guys are fine with it I will start work on it shortly.

Kind of like that but this would just be a page that would list all the issues in one spot. At the moment the only way (that I have found anyway) to find a specific issue is to search for it individually. I was thinking you could come to this page, click on Issue 125 (for example) and then that would take you to the page for that issue, which would have all the producer details, cover scan, stories contained, bonus's that come with issue and so forth (basically how the issue page is set up now). It would be kind of like how the stories pages are currently set up (Daily, Sunday, Team Fantomen, etc.) but would be for the actual issues. Just a thought anyhow. Geaghs.

Yes, this would be the place to list the individual issues; however we haven't quite decided on the form yet. For some publications (like Domingos Alegres, Paquito and El Fantasma (Edar)) we have cover galleries. For others (like Politikin Zabavnik) we just have a list, because we don't have any scans yet. And we have not done any listings for long-running publications like Frew's Phantom, which has over 1500 issues. A cover gallery (or a list for that matter) will be huge unless divided in a smart way somehow. Member 7 07:41, 25 March 2008 (CET)
I think the way to do it for Frew would be just a list or lists (the way I would do the lists is by years, so you would have a link for 1948 which would then contain the list of Frew comics released that year), as you said it would be absolutely giant if you were to put the cover scans on the page as well. The covers could be scanned into the individual issue page. Also I think if we had a list set up here, it is an easy reference point for what FREW issues still need to be added, as there links would be red. I am willing to start it shortly, once I have finished tidying up the Marvel & DC issues I have info for, if no one has any objections.It would be just something basic but we could format it and tidy up a bit as we went on. Hmm... what about tables? And ince the Australian issues are often referred to as belonging to "series" (eg. "900-series", "300-series" and "1400-series"), maybe to cut up the lists in such way, rather than by year or decade. Something like this:

I'm not sure at all about the current (year based) format - the table will be far to wide to fit in most screens when we reach four number digits and 30+ issues/year. with the series format the table will be much more fit for normal screens. Pjär 19:10, 6 May 2008 (CEST)

I think its still good having my Internet browser at less that half of my screen i can still see it all but i get your point about the four digit numbers although its usually only 26 or so issues. what do you suggest that still keeps the same style as Fantomen but is smaller ? --Dark Lord Xander4 10:02, 7 May 2008 (CEST)


Well - either we go with the year format, or with the series format. This is the result for the latest years, using each format.

Another way could be to devide the years into two rows instead of just one meaning we could have the same style across the issues but the size would be smaller at say 15 issues a line insted of 30 (only for the ones with 3 or 4 digits) --Dark Lord Xander4 08:26, 8 May 2008 (CEST)

I prefer the year format because it's interesting to see how the release schedules have changed over the years. However, the 4-digit years become really wide (yes, I have widescreen but not all people do). However, some of our tables/articles are already too wide for all screen formats so maybe we just should accept that on some articles you may need to scroll sideways to see the complete tables?
I guess splitting the years in two rows is a compromise that might work. Or just reduce the font size for the four digit issues. Either way, what we decide now should set an example for future tables. The Italian and French Phantom comics were weekly (52 issues per year!) with three digits per issue. Now that's a challenge! "Year format" for the 1980s and the 1990s

I can see that no one has put in any "year format" for the 1980s and the 1990s. I realize that some people do not have any time to do it, but if someone who knows could put up how many issues that came each year, someone who have time could fix it. ISSN number

Do The Phantom have a ISSN number? If it has, I think it is urgent to add it to the issue articles of those issues that the ISSN number was attached; at Fantomen the use of ISSN number apparantly began in 1979 and hence, only issue articles of issues from 1979 and later have ISSN numbers. Yes, The Phantom has ISSN 1323-52570. I can't say when it began though as I only have some issues from very recent years to look at right now. It is worth noting however that there is something wrong with this number! An ISSN number always has four and four numbers (xxxx-xxxx) as far as I know, but the number on all issues I have is 1323-52570. Andreas 23:03, 30 September 2008 (CEST)
