Plot summary

In 1899, The Jungle Patrol has a fresh recruit, Edgar, who fails at most tasks but the patrol's deputy commander want to give him a chance since he is a young aspiring author. Edgar is given the task of accompanying an expedition from the University of Boston into the jungle to investigate local folklore of a white man in the jungle who goes by the name of The Phantom. The 18th Phantom monitor the expedition closesly and when it attacked by Wasaka warriors he goes into the Wasaka village to free the expedition members. The events serve as inspiration to the author's first success with the first novel about Tarzan.
