Le Soleil is a Canadian newspaper that published "The Phantom" Sunday strip with the title "Le Fantôme" from 1939 to 1974.

History

Le Soleil is founded in Quebec City, Quebec in 1896 and is publishing in French language. "The Phantom" first appeared in Le Soleil on January 5, 1947, and published on Sunday, at the same time as Sunday strips in American newspapers. From September 12, 1959, the Phantom strips had moved to Saturday, and had been published one day before appearance in American newspapers. From January 5, 1968 the Phantom strips had been published on Friday, two days before than in USA, until to cancellation of the Phantom strips in this newspaper on February 5, 1971.
