In the year 2000, a total of 26 issues of Fantomen were published.

Overview

This year was the 50th anniversary year of Fantomen. There were 19 regular issues of 76 pages, 6 expanded issues of 108 pages, and one 50th anniversary special issue of 204 pages – the biggest Fantomen issue ever published.

Covers

Rolf Gohs was the main cover artist of the year with 11 covers. Other cover artists included Hans Lindahl (3 covers), Joan Boix (3 covers), Felmang & Rudy Walk (3 covers), Felmang & Germano Ferri (2 covers), César Spadari (1 cover), and Alexander Klingspor (1 cover). Two covers were created by Peter Friman of the editorial staff using artwork by Joan Boix and Felmang & Rudy Walk, respectively.

A symbol indicating that Fantomen celebrated its 50th anniversary this year was placed by the logo on every cover.

Phantom stories

All 26 issues featured new Team Fantomen stories. Daily and Sunday stories by Lee Falk and Sy Barry were published as back-up stories throughout the year. One daily story by Falk & Wilson McCoy was published in the 50th anniversary issue.
